they have got growth and prosperity as a result of energy production. these are the kind of things that we can do and we believe in and we'll continue to work for. and i just say that maybe even though we have a big difference -- and this budget will be quite different from the house budget -- i don't say it's impossible that in conference that some sort of a more global agreement could be reached to put america on a sound path. we'll have to deal with the entitlements. entitlements represent half of the spending, and with interest, more than half of the spending that we spend, medicare, social security. those are growing well above the inflation rate, and they just need their growth level needs to be contained a little bit. and we can make them sound and people can retire and know that medicare will be there for them, it won't fail, that social security will be there for them, it won't fail, and we're going to stop adding to our debt until it reaches such a level that it could not only slow growth but could cause a financial crisis like we had in 2007
